Dog Slumber Party

Slumber Party guests get to do lots of fun stuff.  We take dogs hiking all the time at places like Pisgah National Forest and Chimney Rock Park.  One of our favorite spots is the Hooker Falls trail in Dupont State Forest.  Hunger Games was filmed in this area.

$25-$40/Night

The price varies according to energy level and/or special needs.  All dogs are given the amount of exercise and socialization they need to become a calm member of our household.

Dogs can sometimes adopt bad behavior from other dogs when they are left in certain atmospheres. If your dog is left in just any ol' place you may return from your vacation to find that your dog is now growling, barking, or has developed some possessive behavior. It is very important that the family dog be left in a quiet, stress-free environment.  We have heard too many stories from friends, family, and even strangers of negative experiences from some kennels.  With us your dog will be kept on his good behavior and even learn some new great behaviors.

All dogs, big or small, can appreciate the quietness of a non-kennel atmosphere.  We have missed some vacation opportunities just because we refuse to leave our chihuahuas in a loud, concrete kennel surrounded by big, barking dogs.  Your dogs will feel at home in our home.

Important stuff - Please read:

All of our Dog Slumber Party goers must be up to date on their shots (rabies, bordatella and DHPP), and also must be flea-free. We don't want anybody to catch anything.

Before new dogs stay here for extended times, they will come in for a day of daycare (on a Tuesday or Thursday) to be sure that they absolutely love us and all the dogs here.

After a fun-filled day, dogs rest in our home in crates, so dogs that stay with us should be comfortable resting in a crate before their stay here.

Only the best of the best dogs stay here, with honors (go Will Smith from Men In Black :)  Dogs that stay with us are happy around other dogs and people; they are well-rounded family dogs.

We have a veterinarian on call.  Dr. Pernell of Laural Park Animal Hospital has been our family vet since our Shorty was a puppy.  His practice is "Combining cutting edge technology and small town compassion."  His office offers: laser surgery, dentistry, radiography, and more.  They also have an in house laboratory and pharmacy.

If you need a family vet, he and his staff be an excellent choice.

Our dog slumber parties are too fun to just be called "dog boarding."  Dogs stay in our home and get individual attention, and they get to work and hang out in small groups.

Dog Slumber Parties can be for one night or for as long as you need.

Individual attention means that Zeffy gets to go to beautiful downtown Brevard instead of sitting in a concrete run at a dog kennel all day.

We give dogs what they really need--exercise, training, and good company.  Dogs that are able get at least 1 hour of leash walking twice a day.  If your dog can't walk on leash, she'll learn while she's here.

Dogs play in our fenced in yard only after they are exercised so that they play nicely.  We just don't let dogs go bonkers and learn crazy habits like digging, excessive barking, mounting, or overly rough playing. They learn lots of cool stuff because we incorporate training throughout the day.

Chloe and Zoe visit Brevard College so that they can meet some really smart kids and fulfill their need for socialization.  It's hard to be homesick when you have so much to see and do.
